The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) currently has four Special Interest Groups (SIGs) to connect NASN members with mutual interests. You can engage in discussions, share challenges, exchange best practices, and find mentors within these supportive professional communities.

Private, Independent, and Parochial School Nurses

The Private, Independent, and Parochial School Nurses (PIPSN) SIG promotes communication and exchanges of ideas among registered nurses who work in private, independent, and parochial schools.

School Nurse Administrators

NASN members with an interest in or responsibility for administration of school health services programs and/or supervision of school nurse practice and performance are encouraged to join the School Nurse Administrators SIG.

The School Nurse Educators SIG is for members engaged in the work of educating school nurse. This includes, but is not limited to, school nurses who are precepting students, university/college faculty, nurses who are teaching school nurse certificate programs, state school nurse consultants, etc.

Special Needs School Nurses

The Special Needs School Nurses (SNSN) SIG includes school nurses who have a high interest in working with children who have special needs health care needs. There is an increased focus on special needs law, health care technology, delegation, supervision, evidence based practice, psycho-social issues, and complex or rare diagnoses.
